Tanya Harris was born and raised just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. She moved to Northern California in 1996. In 1999, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Sonoma State University. During her last year of undergraduate studies, she began working for a Political Science Professor evaluating government grant funding using SPSS Statistics Software. Tanya continued her career path working for Nextel, ADP, and eventually running a surgical equipment repair business with her husband.

Tanya earned a Juris Doctor Degree from Lincoln Law School of Sacramento in 2013 and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2014. During her last year of law school, she had the honor of working for the Solano County District Attorney’s Office as a Certified Law Student, appearing for misdemeanor cases and drafting motions.

Tanya joined the Gallagher Jones team in January 2017. Tanya has experience in civil litigation, breach of contract, contract drafting, partnership disputes, business disputes, trademark law, business formation and governance, and criminal law.

When not passionately advocating for her clients Tanya enjoys working with and on behalf of various non-profit organizations. She is a nationally certified USA Swimming Official and spends the majority of her free time on the pool deck supporting her four children at swim meets and water polo tournaments. In 2015 Tanya received Sierra Nevada Swimming’s Sam Uriu Award for her volunteerism.
